The 2010 Nike Doernbecher Freestyle Collection has its mission of helping the kids in Doernbecher Children’s Hospital but I guess it’s not only them who benefit from this collection. Sneaker fanatics are taking advantage of this special event to get a pair of nice kicks like the Nike Free Run+ by Shelby Lee.
As part of the 2010 Nike Doernbecher Freestyle Collection, the Nike Free Run+ that we’re featuring today is designed by a 12 year old kid named Shelby Lee. It’s really amazing how the kid got the idea for its design especially with the use of various materials and color combination. The upper of this Nike Free Run+ by Shelby Lee is made up of mesh and patent leather combo with heart cutouts on the side panels. Primarily highlighted in shades of blue, Shelby Lee accentuated the upper with gradient yellow Nike swoosh, pink and yellow toe box detailing, and rainbow-colored shoelaces.
Setting this upper is a yellow midsole with colored wordings on the sides that say “Dream, Love, Peace, and Faith”. Other interesting features include the multicolored insole, “Shelby” embroidery on the back heel, heart detailing on the tongue label, and fur coated inner lining.
This Nike Free Run+ by Shelby Lee will launch with the other sneakers from Nike’s Doernbecher Freestyle Collection on December 11. This Nike Free Run+ is exclusive for ladies and costs $90.
